Wine Country

Sonoma Wine Country consists of more than 13 distinct wine appellations. Sophie’s Cellars is situated on the borders of the two largest Sonoma County Wine Appellations, the Russian River and Sonoma Coast.

For oenophiles, head inland along River Road to the nearby wineries along Westside Road where you’ll be transported to a drive through “Tuscany” in the heart of California and discover some exquisite pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and old vine zinfandel among other varietals. Discover hidden gems along Olivet Road or head further inland to Sonoma and Alexander Valleys where Sonoma County grows more of its Bordeaux varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon in its hotter climates.

Sonoma Wine Country is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, rolling vineyards, and world-class wines. Stretching from the Pacific coastline to the inland valleys, it boasts a diverse range of microclimates and soil types, which contribute to the production of a wide variety of wine styles. Known primarily for its Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Chardonnay among other varietals, Sonoma  Wine Country offers a more laid-back and rustic atmosphere compared to its neighboring Napa Valley. Visitors are drawn to its charming small towns, artisanal food, and farm-to-table dining experiences, making it a perfect destination for wine lovers and those seeking a peaceful getaway amidst stunning natural beauty.
