Shipping methods & costs

Shipping costs are determined by weight and include the cost of deluxe wine shippers and adult verification at delivery by UPS. All wine shipments require an adult (over 21-years) signature for receipt. Delivery driver is required to ask for ID to verify age.

If an item in your order isn't available for immediate shipment, we will notify you and offer a substitution recommendation or provide the option of holding your order until all items are available for shipment. We cannot ship wine or items that include wine to PO Boxes.

Sophie's Cellars does not ship on weekends and major holidays. Additionally, under extreme weather conditions Sophie's Cellars reserves the right to delay the release of shipments to ensure product quality.

In some instances state law regulates product availability and/or wine purchase limitations. Working within state and local laws may prevent our ability to fulfill order requests.

Out of stock items

Though we continually monitor inventory to ensure product availability, there are times when products may be out of stock. If that occurs, wine representatives are available to suggest comparable substitutions. In cases where a substitution is necessary, we will call you before shipping and provide the option to select other items. If you decide not to make a substitution, we will ship available items minus the out of stock item(s) or cancel the order if you prefer to do so. Your credit card will not be charged until we ship your order, and you will not be charged for out-of-stock items.

Credit card refunds

Sophie's Cellars processes refunds to the credit card used at time of purchase upon receiving your returned shipment. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the refund credit to appear on your statement.

Returns policy

Sophie's Cellars guarantees the quality of all our products and services. Your satisfaction is our first priority. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your order, please email or call 707-865-1122 within 30 days of receipt of your order for assistance. Sophie's Cellars will not accept a return without prior authorization. Cancelled and/or returned orders are subject to a 25% restocking fee.

Following the wine trade tradition, all bottles ten years or older are purchased at the buyer's risk.

Privacy Policy

Sophie's Cellars respects the privacy of our customers and will not sell or share your information with third parties. Sophie's Cellars may contact you by phone or email to verify an order. If Sophie's Cellars is unable to contact you by telephone, we may choose to cancel an order. If Sophie's Cellars cancels an order, no charge will be made to your credit card.

Sales Tax

Sophie's Cellars collects Sales Tax in California. Tax for orders shipped to California will have sales tax added to the order.
