"Nose of lemon curd, jasmine. The palate is lemon grass, orange rind with bright firm acid and a finish of lemon rind. This sauvignon blanc is a superb pairing with fresh local seafood, shellfish, fatty fishes such as king salmon which will pair brilliantly with the bright acidities – it’s important to recognize the benefits of pairing bright acid citric wines with fatty fishes – a superb pairing for fried sardines." - John Haggard, Sophie's Cellars

This vintage was grown on the Hopkins River Ranch Vineyard in Russian River Valley. We choose our fruit from two different blocks: one which grows by the Russian River and one that grows on an inland hillside. The riverside vines tend to ripen slower, developing fruit with a more New Zealand flavor profile of fresh grass and citrus. The sunny, hillside vines ripen sooner and develop more luscious, tropical fruit characteristics. The blend of these two blocks results in a perfectly balanced compliment of flavors that make our Sauvignon Blanc so popular! Refreshing aromas of citrus and juicy pear followed by very subtle hints of sweet grass and thyme. Medium-bodied on the palate, bright acidity accompanies flavors of guava, fresh apricot and tangerine. Open a chilled bottle, find a comfy seat on the porch and sip away.
