Churchill Cellars Pinot Noir 2004 750ml
$44.99
Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bella Luna Vineyard
Excellent - PinotFile
Winemaker: Anthony Austin
Growers: Ken and Susan Churchill
"The Bella Luna Vineyard is a 2,000 vine 1 acre small-vine vineyard located on Olivet Road in the Russian River Valley Appellation. The vineyard was planted in the year 2000 with 115, 459, 667, and 777 Dijon clone Pinot Noir grapes. An elegant wine with mouthwatering aromas of chocolate, cherry, and cola. From grapes grown on the Churchill Cellars estate, this wine reveals rich deep flavors of cinnamon, ripe cherries, raspberries and pomegranate. A long finish with excellent acid balance and texture on the pallet. A great food wine."

Cigliuti Barbaresco Serraboella 2001 750ml
$74.99
92 pts Wine Advocate
The 2001 Barbaresco Serraboella, the house is predictably excellent in this vintage, a dark garnet-ruby with much sweet red fruit, roses, and tar, dense and concentrated flavors, and a firm and swelling close which indicates a dozen years of life ahead.
|
Cline Mourvedre 2006 750ml
$33.99
Small Berry Mourvedre
Contra Costa County
"The Cline small berry mourvedre is dry farmed and well-structured. The soft tannins and over-tones of plum, tobacco, chocolate and mint. A perfect compliment to roast leg of lamb. Drink now through 2012." - winery notes
"This is my favorite mourvedre produced in California to date. No decanting necessary."
- John Haggard, Sophie's Cellars

Clos LaChance Grenache 2004 750ml
$34.99
Central Coast
"Aromas of red cherry, strawberry, and a palate of big tannins, tobacco, leather and cocoa. This 2004 vintage is much more tightly wound than the 2003. Age through 2012. Decant for 1 hour. Pair with hearty dishes such as beef, prime rib, lamb and barbequed pork."
|
Clos LaChance Petite Sirah 2004 750ml
$34.99
|
Codorniu Cava Brut Pinot Noir NV 750ml
$15.99
Spain
"Pale and refreshing sparkling cherry-red colour along with fine, pleinful and perpetual fizz. The bouquet is reminiscent of recently picked and deliciously ripe summer fruits -particularly raspberries and blackcurrants- intermingle, yielding an incredibly fresh taste with a very subtle citrus flavour. Abundant palate sensations that suggest preserves and elegance further layer upon the aromas to provide a unique sensory experience that makes Codorníu Pinot Noir unforgettable. Try as an aperitif, of course, but also with salmon or even poultry. Let it match the most delicate raspberries and blackcurrants in your dessert..."

Collier Falls Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley 2001 750ml
$29.99
"This wine shows fragrances of wild strawberries, ripe raspberries and liquorice. On the palate, the wine offers initial notes of cherry, vanilla and cocoa; the middle palate compliments with a soft, elegant texture while the finish is long and spicy. The integration of oak and fruit is beautifully balanced - with the wine showing velvety tannins. The 2001 vintage is well-suited for aging."

Coturri Zinfandel 2004 750ml
$26.99
Freiberg Vineyards
Sonoma Valley Zinfandel
Organically grown grapes, no sulfites added, unfined and unfiltered, biodynamic.
"Tony Coturri not only uses organically grown grapes, but relies on indigenous yeast, refrains from filtering and fining and never adds sulfites to the wine. Tony believes this zin to be among the best he has ever made, it has a distinct scent of honeyed apricots, this is a full bodied zin that offers up velvety plush fruit, hints of rich chocolate, toasted thyme, mushrooms and spice. This wine craves spicy foods."

Cristom Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard 2003 750ml
$49.99
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Oregon
This very dark, ruby colored Pinot Noir has great fruit expression along with a bit of a floral note on the nose. There is quite a bit of weight to the wine, but it has a very smooth texture. A fair amount of acidity and just a touch of tannin and oak contribute to a very long, satisfying finish.

David Noyes Pinot Noir 2006 750ml
$24.99
Sonoma County Pinot Noir
"Subtle, complex and rich; aromas of black cherry preserves, cinnamon and clove. Elusive flavors of forest floor and wild mushroom, the wine finishes with a touch of toasted oak."
- Winemaker notes
"An extraordinary value pinot noir. Decant for twenty minutes."
- John Haggard, Sophie's Cellars

David Noyes Tocai Friulano 2007 750ml
$17.99
North Coast Tocai Friulano
"Aromatic and light, this easy to like white pairs well with pungent, rustic cuisine, and seafood. A favorite in its home region of Friuli, Northeast Italy, it is found throughout that region's bars and restaurants. The varieta's history in California dates from the 1880's, when various prominent viticulturists promoted it as an improvement to the varieties then used for commercial white wines. The aroma explodes with citrus, citronella, and white pepper spice. In the mouth the flavors explore the range of floral fruit from earth to spice, with a persistent mineral finish. The clean finish and assertive floral character allow the wine to make a perfect match to mussels or clams, the traditional pairing with prosciutto, or more simply, roast chicken."

Davis Family Vineyards Pinot Noir 2005 750ml
$49.99
Gold Medal, Sonoma County Harvest Fair
Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
"Rarely do I describe pinot noirs with dark fruit as having sharp fruit flavors, however the red and black fruit from this 2005 vintage exemplifies that style. With less earthy foliage backgrounds than previous vintages, the 2005 pinot noir will age gracefully over the next several years and makes a perfect food wine. Consider pairing with beef dishes such as ossa bucco and even braised lamb shank. Decant forty minutes. Cellar now through 2013."
- John Haggard, Sophie's Cellars

Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Dutton Ranch - Kylie's Cuvee
"This is our first Sauvignon Blanc from the Musque Clone Vineyard that is planted at the Dutton Home Ranch. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve the truest character of the fruit, this wine is perfect for welcoming the start of a meal or may accompany a wide array of dishes such as Waldorf Salad or Grilled Seafood with a fruit salsa. Bright straw in color, the nose has some soft floral of honeysuckle and peach nectar and star fruit. This medium-bodied wine embraces the clonal character of Musque with a balanced mouth flavor and a long soft finish of pure fruit."- Winery notes
"Light fruit flavors of the musque provide for an excellent warm weather sipping sauvignon blanc or a great pairing for grilled prawns over caesar salad. Drink now through 2009."

"The 2005 Pinot Noir from EMTU diplays candied red fruit and toast with a very long finish which creates what I find to be a superior food wine. Pair with rich duck dishes of confit or duck breast and fruit sauces. No decanting necessary. Cellar through 2010."
